#TeamFajr = Waking up for and going to the Masjid (Mosque) and praying the Fajr (Pre Dawn) prayer.
Team Fajr is a Twitter initiative, that promotes and inspires others to follow suit. In the twitter community, individual’s are often referred to and associated with a “#Team…” Examples are #TeamiPhone #TeamCollegeGrad #TeamMarried and #TeamBlessed. It is a way to identify yourself with other individuals who are like minded.
Team Fajr is not bragging or boasting about your good deeds. It is geared to inspire others, as well as yourself to be consistent. Many people check their social sites, before they brush their teeth in the morning. If I check my twitter when I first get up, and I notice two of my best friends tweeting “#TeamFajr“, I may be inclined to get up and go for prayer. And God willing, the person who tweeted that message, and the person getting up for prayer, will share in that reward.
The Team Fajr T-Shirts will further expand the movement, and God willing, encourage more people to attend Fajr prayer in the Masjid.
Why no Team (insert other prayers here)? Fajr Salah is the most difficult to attend in congregation, and at most Masjids, it is the emptiest. God willing, we can change that, and have Fajr Salah, be just as strong as Maghrib and eventually Jummah Prayer.
The reward for “#TeamFajr?”
“No prayers are more heavy (harder) for the hypocrites than the Fajr and the Isha prayer; but if they knew the reward for these prayers at their respective times, they would certainly present themselves (in the mosques) even if they had to crawl.” (Recorded in Sahih al-Bukhari)
